I'm 37 years old and the only time I have ever placed a bet in my life was during a works outing to York races. I lost £20, but my friend was up around £100 at the end of the day. He did spend a little more time looking at the racing cards than I did. I just placed a bet on a horse at random. I can safely say I knew nothing about horse racing before I wrote decided to look into whether these 'racing systems' do actually work. What better way to get an impartial view of them. No prior knowledge or experience to sway my judgement. How did I test them? To get the fairest test, I decided it would be best to pit all the systems up against the same horses. I read all three books and made notes. I then took one week in March 2007 to try them out. I analysed all the racing cards every morning for that week and picked the horses I wanted to bet on using each system. This was done before the first event of the day. I then picked out one horse only from each system, but also kept details and results of the other horses the system suggested. Let me say now that I didn't plan to place any money on the horses I chose, otherwise this might have been an expensive experiment. I just picked the horse, and didn't change it. Well that was the idea. One of the systems was proving so successful that I did actually start placing bets by the end of the experiment!
The 'Systems' Overview
I would suggest that you read the detailed review of each system on the right hand side and how my betting experiment went, including the results. If you can't wait and want to know which was best, I'll get down to it now! Racefortune by Steven Lee Jones "Over the last 12 months I've made more than £20,000 from laying horses....what about you?"
Description Learn how to bet on losers and make money. A very well written guide which explains in great detail how to bet on losers. You basically become the bookie, and we know that they always win! I had great success with this guide, so much so that I actually started placing bets halfway into the experiment. Fanstatic for the beginner because it explains everything you need to know about reading racing cards and finding horses to lay. How to 'place bet' on horses for a living by Mohammed Ali "Discover how $15 is very safely turned into $157.28 from 5 highly secured bets." Description Great guide but might be a little heavy for the beginner. Ali claims to get a hit rate of over 90% but due to my inexperience I didn't get near that. It takes longer to read the cards and work out which horses to bet, but the guide is about picking out the best horses to bet on. Ali's experience shines though in this guide, and given more time and experience, this would be the guide to pick. It's not the best seller for nothing. Smart Bet Wizard by Mark Keegan "Create a full time tax free income in under 10 minutes a day... starting from scratch." Description Three system for the price of one. Two of the systems are very easy to use and pick horses and doesn't take a lot of your time. The success rate wasn't so great with those. The third system requires you to analyse the cards in a bit more detail, but it does go into detail on how to read them. It's better for the beginner than Mohammed Ali's guide.
